First Visit Expectations

Health History Forms
You will be required to fill out a Health History Form prior to your initial consultation. If the main reason for your visit is fertility, please ensure you fill out a Fertility Health Form. Please bring these forms with you for your appointment. You are welcome to email or fax 403-686-3971; these forms to the clinic beforehand to allow me time to familiarize myself with your particular case and needs.

Treatment Time
Your first visit to TerraSana Health will take roughly 1-1.5 hours. You can help yourself to some water or herbal tea upon your arrival to the clinic.

Initial Consultation and Treatment
You and the practitioner will thoroughly go through the Health History forms that you previously filled out. You will be asked questions regarding all aspects of your health, lifestyle nutrition and stressors in order to build a complete picture, other diagnostic techniques may need to be incorporated, such as examining your tongue or taking your pulse. All of these tools will be used to arrive at a pattern diagnoses and a direction for treatment. The Practitioner will then insert hair-thin acupuncture needles into specific acupuncture points on the body.

The needles are usually placed in the body for 20-30 minutes at a time. Typically you are left in the room to relax and unwind. Most patients will fall asleep, meditate or practice mind-full breathing during this time.

Before your appointment please try to:
Get a good night’s sleep
If possible – wear loose fitting clothing such as yoga or workout wear
Have a modest amount to eat a few hours before you appointment. (Avoid coming to your appointment on an empty stomach or directly after eating a large meal)

After your appointment please try to:
Avoid strenuous exercise 4 hours after your appointment.
