PREGNANCY WELLNESS PROGRAM

Becoming pregnant is a momentous time, whether it came easily or after a long road. From the moment you find out, your mind races with questions. What's best for you and your baby? There's no shortage of books and forums, but knowing what's relevant to you is another matter.

This is a sacred season, and you deserve to be cherished and cared for through it. At TerraSana Health, Dr. Ashley Abbs supports your body through each stage of pregnancy, and makes space for the emotional transition into motherhood.

Support through every trimester

Weekly treatments until 12–14 weeks help with nausea, fatigue, bloating and constipation, anxiety and sleep. If you've experienced loss before, Ashley's Maintaining Pregnancy Program offers extra support through these early weeks. Learn more: Early Pregnancy and Miscarriage Support

First trimester

A treatment every three to four weeks, depending on your needs, helps you stay well and ease common discomforts like back and hip pain, sciatica, headaches, indigestion, stress and sleep.

Second trimester

THIRd trimester

Treatment becomes weekly again as you prepare for birth. If your baby is breech, care can begin at 32 weeks. Otherwise, pre-birth acupuncture usually begins at 36–37 weeks.

More than treatment

Many patients say the conversation is as valuable as the needles. Your sessions are a chance to:

  • Connect with your baby's growth at each stage

  • Talk through nutrition, supplements and self-care

  • Explore the emotions that arise as you move toward motherhood

  • Prepare labour and birth options that reflect your wishes

  • Ask your questions about pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and the early days with your baby

Preparing for birth

Weekly sessions from 36–37 weeks use specific points to help your body prepare for labour, supporting your baby's positioning and your body's natural readiness as you approach your due date. It's often used alongside the care of midwives and doulas.

Birthing acupuncture

If you've passed your due date by three days or more, or your OB or midwife recommends it earlier, birthing acupuncture can be used to help encourage labour naturally and support you before further interventions are considered.
